Fashion TV and the Indian Youth

Fashion is a general term for a currently popular style or practice. It refers

to anything that is the current trend in look and dress up of a person. It is

an inevitable part of our daily lives, we recognize it either as such or not.

Fashion is very closely related to art. It refers to that is the current in look

and dress up of a person.

Since the birth of communication, media has been used to

convey information to those willing to absorb it. Beginning with

publications and simple spoken words, and soaring to new heights in the

twentieth century with television. Television has been made accessible to

people in every aspect of their daily lives and with such a strong hold on

modern society. T.V. media has been able to shape popular culture and

often influence public opinion.

Fashion TV is a media related to the modern age. It is

most popular among today’s youth. The most significant idea behind the

changing trends is that the fashion will alter faster than the civilization as a

whole even the earliest fashion communicated information about social

etiquette. Fashion TV is a global media, playing a significant role in the

economic, cultural and social lives of a vast audience. It is a fastly growing

media industry with events such as the India Fashion Week and annual

shows by fashion designers in the major cities of the country.

Fashion media has greatly affected our traditions, customs

and respect for others. Fashion television has changed youth a lot. It has its

own positive and negative side. For this, we have to make ourself

compatible to adopt the changing lifestyle it it seems to be comfortable.

The effect of Fashion TV in Indian youth can be seen in most of the things

as dressing, the way of communicating with others and even western dance

has gained its popularity among Indian youth.

In this mechanical world, we are slowly forgetting our

traditional culture which may not be known to our future generation. So, it

is in the hands of Indian youth to take only the needed things and leave the

waste that is not needed. We all know that Fashion TV is affecting Indian

youth, but most of us are interested to know about the latest trends and

brands. No one is interested to develop the same concept and technology in

India.

Indian culture is rich and diverse and as a result unique in

its very own way. Our manner, way of communicating with one another

etc are one of the important components of our culture. Even though we

have accepted modern means of living, improved our lifestyle, our values

and beliefs still remain unchanged. A person can change his way of

clothing, way of eating and living but the rich values in a person always

remains unchanged because they are deeply rooted within our heart, mind,

body and soul which we receive from our culture.

If one is influenced by western culture, its not that we

have to forget our culture. One is good enough to decide what is right or

wrong. Instead of taking bad things of it let us take good things out of it

like their communication skills, their technology etc. Nobody can be

forced to do things unless he wants to.

There is no harm in taking good things from fashion

televisions but this does not mean that we should completely adopt it and

pretend to be western and misrepresent our identity. It is understandable

that India is growing in every field and there is necessity of knowing all

the cultures and their traditions. To some extent it is fine but we should not

pretend that we dislike the Indian values and likes only western culture.

We have to preserve our identity. One thing always kept in mind western

world is looking India for its honesty and its rich cultural heritage.
